EnviroCapital is often asked multiple questions in relation to environmental offsets and how our agreements work. Our agreements are tailor made to each property to ensure they appropriately deliver on objectives of the land owner, the proponent as well as the complex regulatory framework. Above all, we approach the agreements with a professional, commercial and flexible attitude. As our agreements are drafted to suit the particulars of each property and transaction, their bespoke nature ensures we’re able to work with the Landowners to incorporate the vast majority of their requests. Some of the more common aspects of an agreement that we’re able to accommodate include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Landowners are still able to access the land unless agreed otherwise.
  • The agreements typically last for 10 years. The agreement will not prohibit you from selling the land within that period if you want.
  • We structure the agreement in such a way as to contribute nil or minimal loss of value to your land, ensuring the payment you receive for the offset is in addition to the value of your land.
  • We can structure the agreement to allow the land owner to retain the flexibility to build a house or other improvements on the land should they choose.
  • We can agree who administers the rehabilitation requirements under the agreement. Appropriate compensation will be made if you choose to undertake this work yourself.

As each property is different, we will tailor the proposal to suit your circumstances. Contact Us if you have a specific query about what we can accommodate.
